Design Innovation

Design Innovation is developing processes, strategies and tools for transforming design culture across education, research and practice.

We are design entrepreneurs! We use evidence from fields like cognitive science to cultivate translational research informing how people understand space and place. We develop new tools to measure and inform our knowledge of human-environment interactions. We apply analogous learnings to drive transformative change across spatial and geographic typologies.
We are pioneers creating new roadmaps for design education, research and practice! We seek new ways of learning, evaluating, and creating for the purpose of updating design culture to align with current and future global forces. This includes continuous, incremental improvement processes to guide evolutionary change and design disruption processes to promote revolutionary change.
We thrive from diverse ways of thinking, and a community of partners from all disciplines and cultures to guide design innovation and make a sustainable impact.

Human brains are weird, glorious and driven by a delicate yet robust interplay of various opposing forces.
